Adrian Peterson, a former NFL running back and MVP, has been instructed by a Houston judge to surrender various assets to satisfy a debt of over $12 million. A court-appointed official, Robert Berleth, requested this action in July, citing Peterson’s possession of multiple assets at his Texas residence. To ensure a peaceful process, the judge ordered local constables to accompany Berleth to Peterson’s home. This debt stems from a 2016 loan of $5.2 million, which has ballooned to $8.3 million due to interest and legal fees. Despite a 2021 judgment, no payments have been made. Peterson, a 39-year-old retired NFL player, had a distinguished 15-year career with numerous accolades, including four All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowl appearances.
