Jon Rahm shared about the heartbreaking…
finish of his Legion XIII at the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship after the golfer withdrew from the competition ahead of the semifinals. The Spanish golfer was forced to step away from the competition on Saturday, 21 September, due to severe flu symptoms. His team announced the sad news on social media, revealing that John Catlin would play in Rahm’s place at the Team Championship.
Finally, the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship concluded on Sunday, 22 September, but Rahm’s team finished in fourth place despite having a remarkable season throughout the year. Legion XIII had finished second in the season standings after the LIV Golf Chicago event but struggled in the finale of the Team Championship.
Although Rahm did not compete in the Team Championship, he shared a post about his team’s fourth-place finish on his Instagram account. Legion XIII shared an emotional post on its Instagram account, writing:
“We fought until the end. Proud of this team. We’ll be back. ⚔️”

Meanwhile, Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC won the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship. They registered a three-stroke win over Iron Heads and 4 Aces.
Rahm’s team scored 6-under in the finale and settled for fourth place. From their side, Tyrrell Hatton scored the best with 4-under, while Catlin scored 2-under. Caleb Surratt and Kieran Vincent, who were fabulous in the semifinals and won against Phil Mickelson and Brendan Steele in the foursome match, struggled in the finale and scored 1-under and 1-over, respectively.
Playing his first season on the LIV Golf circuit, Jon Rahm had a memorable finish to the year. Although his team did not capture the season-ending Team Championship, he triumphed in the 2024 LIV Golf Individual Championship.
At the conclusion of the LIV Golf Chicago event, Rahm topped the season standings and won the individual championship along with an $18 million bonus.
The two-time Major winner had a remarkable 2024 season on the LIV Golf circuit, claiming victories in two events, including the UK and Chicago tournaments. Moreover, he never finished worse than tenth place throughout the season.
