CBS has chosen to part ways with well-known golf reporter Amanda Balionis after receiving a surprising message from golf star Rory McIlroy. According to reports, McIlroy employed the services of a private investigator to deliver divorce papers to Erica Stoll just 24 hours after winning the Wells Fargo Championship.
The Belfast Telegraph recently published an article revealing this information while McIlroy took a well-deserved break from professional golf during the busy major season. While there is speculation that McIlroy may have attended a wedding in Italy based on flight tracker information, this has yet to be confirmed.
On May 13th, McIlroy officially filed for divorce from his seven-year marriage, shortly after his victory at the Wells Fargo Championship. The divorce papers were signed digitally between 9:06 PM and 9:08 PM EDT on May 9th, as reported by the BT.
<span;>Interestingly, the same lawyer who represented Tiger Woods during his divorce from Elin Nordegren after his extramarital affairs were exposed, Thomas Sasser, filed the proceedings in Palm Beach County Court. Additionally, court documents reveal that Carl Woods, a certified homicide investigator and licensed private investigator, personally served Erica with the divorce papers.
According to the BT report, Woods received the papers from Sasser’s firm at 9:58 AM on May 13th and served them to Stoll at the McIlroy family home in The Bear’s Club, an exclusive Jack Nicklaus development, at 10:30 AM. The description of Stoll provided in the papers states that she is a white woman in her 30s with blonde hair, slim build, and a height between5ft 7in and 5ft 8in, and not wearing glasses.
The served papers informed Stoll that she had 20 days to file a written response to her husband’s petition with the circuit court clerk.
